Ten years.

Writing that feels a little surreal.

When we first opened the doors to Mooeys Horsham back in August 2016, we hoped we’d create a salon that people enjoyed visiting. Somewhere clients could switch off for an hour, have a chat, leave feeling looked after and hopefully tell their friends about us.

We never imagined we’d still be here a decade later, celebrating ten incredible years with the community that has supported us every step of the way.

Like most small businesses, the last ten years haven’t been a straight line. There have been brilliant days, stressful days, exciting opportunities and moments where we’ve genuinely wondered what the future would look like.

But somehow, here we are.

And that’s something we’re incredibly proud of.

Looking back…

It’s funny how numbers can suddenly bring everything into perspective.

Over the last ten years, our Horsham team has:

  • Painted more than 38,000 sets of nails.
  • Carried out over 17,000 waxing treatments.
  • Welcomed more than 15 fantastic team members into the Horsham herd.
  • Seen 45 clients join our Mooeys Membership, making us part of their regular self-care routine.

On paper, they’re just numbers.

But behind every appointment is a person.

A bride getting ready for her wedding.

Someone heading off on holiday.

A nervous first-time wax.

A regular client who pops in every three weeks and now feels more like a friend than a customer.

Those are the moments we’ll always remember.

We’ve Never Stood Still

One thing we’ve always promised ourselves is that we’d keep improving.

Over the years we’ve introduced new treatments, invested in training, refreshed the salon and looked for ways to make every visit feel even better than the last.

Launching Laser Hair Removal was a huge milestone for us and one we’re incredibly proud of.

We also became one of the first beauty salon groups in our area to introduce a membership, giving our most loyal clients a way to enjoy exclusive benefits while making their regular appointments that little bit easier to manage.

Not every idea has been perfect.

Not everything has gone exactly to plan.

But we’ve never been afraid to learn, adapt and keep moving forwards.

The Harder Chapters

We’d love to tell you it’s all been plain sailing.

It hasn’t.

Running an independent business is incredibly rewarding, but it can also be exhausting.

There have been times over the last ten years when we’ve sat around the table asking difficult questions about the future.

Covid was, without doubt, the hardest.

Like so many independent businesses, we closed our doors overnight with no real idea of when we’d be able to reopen.

It was frightening.

Not just because of the business, but because of our team, our clients and everything we’d worked so hard to build.

There were moments when giving up would probably have been the easier option.

But we didn’t.

Because You Showed Up

This is the part of the blog we probably struggled to write the most.

Because “thank you” doesn’t really feel enough.

Whether you’ve been visiting Horsham since the very beginning or only found us recently, every appointment you’ve booked has helped keep a local business going.

Every recommendation you’ve made to a friend.

Every gift voucher you’ve bought.

Every review you’ve left.

Every treatment you’ve trusted us with.

It’s all added up to something much bigger than you probably realise.

When small businesses say your support matters, it really does.

You’ve helped us keep our doors open.

You’ve supported local jobs.

You’ve helped us grow.

And you’ve given us the confidence to keep investing in Horsham for the future.

For that, we’ll always be grateful.

Here’s to the Next Ten

Reaching ten years feels like a huge milestone.

Not because we’ve got everything figured out.

But because we’re still excited about what’s next.

We’ll keep learning.

We’ll keep improving.

We’ll keep investing in our team.

We’ll keep bringing new treatments to Horsham.

And we’ll keep doing our very best to make every single person who walks through our doors feel welcome.
