How accessible are your salons?2025-01-29T09:56:04+00:00

Unfortunately, as the majority of our buildings are listed because they are super old buildings, they aren’t very wheelchair friendly.
Our toilets are either up or down a few stairs, and some salons have small steps to get into them. Here is some more info on each salon below to give a bit more info, however if you would like further info – then please don’t hesitate to give us a shout.

This is something we are working on, and are keeping in mind for new salons. We are so sorry if we cannot accommodate you, however we will do everything we can to make it work for you if possible.

Farnham
Small step to get in to the building, Manicure bench is accessible, Pedicures can be carried out next to the pedi area if required. Toilet isn’t accessible as it is down a step.

Horsham

Do your couches have weight restrictions?2025-01-29T09:55:52+00:00

We use either hydraulic or electric couches in the majority of our salons. The weight restrictions on these couches are 25 stones.

In Horsham, we have our treatment rooms upstairs and the couches aren’t the same due to the old style building, and the floor not being strong enough to hold very heavy couches. The restrictions on these couches are approx. 20 stones.

We want you to feel as comfortable as possible which is why we believe in transparency. If you have any questions, or would like us to check our manufacturers information – please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

What is your cancellation and deposit policy?2025-01-29T09:55:58+00:00

Deposits
We require a 50% deposit for all new clients initially, and then this deposit goes down to a very small amount unless you haven’t shown up for an appointment – then you will be required to pay 50%. This is to prevent us losing revenue from people not showing up for their appointments.

Cancellations
If you cannot make your appointment, then we require 24 hours notice to cancel. You can cancel in this time via our app or website, and your deposit will be refunded back to you.
If you give us less that 24 hours notice, then we will try to move the appointment for you to save your deposit. We totally get that things come up, and we will always do what we can to prevent you from losing your deposit. But please always try to get in touch as we will charge you for the full amount of the treatment if you just don’t show up.

If in doubt – give us a shout!

How Inclusive are you?2025-03-12T20:34:05+00:00

We welcome all, and are on a mission to make Mooeys completely gender neutral.
Unfortunately this isn’t quite possible yet as our intimate waxing (The Ultimate Mooey and Mini Mooey wax) are for vulva’s only at this present moment in time. This is because our Moos haven’t completed the specific training required for scrotum waxing – but we are working on it we promise.

All of our other treatments are completely gender neutral and we truly welcome all.
At Mooeys we just want you to feel safe in our comMOOnity. Your age, race, gender, ability, religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation does not even come into it – one love all!
This goes for both our Moos and clients equally!

If you would like a copy of our EDI policy, please just get in touch.

Are you Vegan Friendly?2025-03-12T21:23:37+00:00

The only product that we have that ISN’T Vegan friendly is our Hot Wax due to it containing beeswax. So all facial, bikini and intimate waxing would not be classed as Vegan friendly.
All of our other products that are used in our salons are fully Vegan friendly.

Laser FAQ’s

So why are we offering Laser?2022-08-06T20:28:16+01:00

People want to be hair free and want it last forever, and who doesn’t want to feel like a dolphin, right?

Laser Hair removal is becoming increasingly popular nowadays, and as we specialise in hair removal services, it seems only fitting that we offer a treatment that provides permanent hair removal options aswell.

As you know, we love finding out what our clients think, so after we carried out the Laser survey that was issued in July 2022, it was really clear that our comMOOnity were really interested in having laser, but either wanted to know more about it, or wanted to go somewhere that they trusted.

So, after 5 years of research, we have finally found the equipment that we feel really confident in, and comfortable launching across our salons.

Which salons will be offering Laser Hair Reduction?2026-03-18T10:53:38+00:00

We have Laser Hair Reduction services in our Horsham, Godalming, Petersfield, Newbury and Haslemere branches.

What equipment do we use?2022-08-06T20:29:58+01:00

At Mooeys, we use the Contour Dio-Ice from the Contour Group.

The Dio-Ice’s Triple Wavelengths (755 Alexandrite – 808 Diode – 1064 ND Yag) offers the three most effective laser hair removal wavelengths on the market, simultaneously working in unison. Allowing us to safely treat ALL Skin types and target hair growths at different stages for optimum, quick results.

The triple wavelength is considered the Gold Standard in Laser Hair Removal for the face and body. The removal process is very significant, painless and comfortable.

Diode Laser Hair Removal provides enhanced comfort during treatment, minimal risk of infection, speed and accuracy and also minimises skin irritation that other methods may create. Diode Laser is a precise instrument, with light parameters that can be adjusted to damage only the hair follicle, while minimally affecting the surrounding skin.

  • Painless treatment
  • CE Medical Approved Device
  • Suitable for ALL skin types
  • Medical grade class 4 laser
  • 3 wavelengths: 755 Alexandrite, 808 Diode, 1064 ND Yag
How does Laser Hair Reduction work?2026-03-18T14:12:39+00:00

The system emits near-infrared laser light that is absorbed by the melanin located in the hair follicle. The laser is pulsed for only a fraction of a second, and the duration of each pulse is long enough to damage the follicle without damaging the surrounding tissue.

The equipment we use has a unique, patented contact-cooling hand piece, that protects the skin by offering conductive cooling during the laser delivery.

What training have your therapists had?2022-08-06T20:30:54+01:00
  • Level 3 Beauty therapy qualification
  • Core of Knowledge (laser theory training)
  • Manufacturer Training

We only have specific therapists carrying out this treatment who have the relevant experience and training required for us to be fully insurable, and to of course deliver the best results.

What skin/hair types can your Laser Hair Reduction Treatment be used on?2026-03-18T10:52:49+00:00

It never felt right to us, to have equipment that wasn’t suitable for everyone. So we waited until we found the machine that could be fully inclusive.

The Dio-Ice’s triple wavelength technology allows for the treatment of all different skin types which is why we have chosen this specific equipment.

  • 755 Alexandrite is perfect for light coloured skin and fair hair.
  • 808 Diode is the classic wavelength used by most Laser Hair removal units and is suitable for most skin and hair types.
  • 1064 ND Yag is used to treat darker and/or tanned skin tones that have lower melanin absorption.
How many treatments will I need?2023-05-18T18:39:56+01:00

Most clients get up to 80% hair reduction within 6-8 sessions minimum

The number of treatments you require, depends so much on your hair type. Darker, more coarse hair will see results quicker than fair hair for instance.

Treatments need to be carried out 4-8 weeks apart depending on hair growth cycle and some clients may need up to 12 treatments. This varies for each individual person.

Laser hair removal won’t work on ‘fluffy’ hair or hair without pigment, so extremely fair hair which means you may have great results but be left with some fluffy hair still that cannot be removed.

How long will the results last for?2022-09-07T09:05:37+01:00

Ideally forever!

Everybody’s hair and skin is different and generally speaking, laser is a long term hair removal option. However, if you go through significant hormonal changes such as Pregnancy, Menopause or change in medication – this can have an impact on your hair regrowth and some hair may grow back.

Are there any side effects?2022-08-06T20:33:58+01:00

You could experience temporary side effects such as itchy skin, redness, mild swelling of the follicle or mild irritation. But these are all perfectly normal after Laser Hair Removal treatment.

We can stress the importance of following the correct prep and aftercare to receive maximum results with minimal side effects to the treatment.

Can I have Laser Hair Reduction Treatment if I am on Medication?2026-03-18T10:52:35+00:00

Certain medications can cause photo-sensitivity to the skin and this may affect the skin’s reaction to the treatment. These medications are but not limited to oral and topical vitamin A’s, antibiotics, and certain anti-depressants. It is best to speak with your medical professional and obtain medical clearance. After obtaining medical clearance, we are able to test patch you with the laser to determine it is safe to commence treatment.

How long do I need to leave it between having Laser Hair Reduction Treatments?2026-03-18T10:51:45+00:00

This really depending on your hair and skin type aswell as the area being treated. We would recommend you have treatments every 4-6 weeks.
Each part of the body has a different hair growth cycle, so the hair loss will vary depending on what phase your follicles are in at the time of treatment.

What do I need to do before I have Laser Hair Reduction Treatment?2026-03-18T10:51:35+00:00

Pre and post care for laser is just as important as the treatment itself. Follow the below guidelines to help us achieve the best results possible.

  • Shave the treatment area the night before your treatment.
  • Do not have any types of chemical peels or laser resurfacing treatments for at least 4 weeks before your treatment
  • Exfoliate the treatment area approx. least 3 days before your treatment
  • Make sure you don’t have any fake tan residue on the skin.
  • Do not use sun beds or lay in the sun for two weeks prior to having your laser treatment. This includes any tanning pills/drugs or enhancers
  • Do not apply any creams/lotions/potions or perfume on the area that is being treated, on the day of your treatment.
  • Avoid waxing, plucking or hair removal creams for 4 weeks prior to treatment to get the best results.
Do you offer numbing for Laser Hair Reduction?2026-03-18T10:48:50+00:00

Numbing creams are not particularly safe, nor super effective when doing Laser Hair Reduction. The sensation that you feel in a Laser treatment is not felt on the skin, but in the follicle of the hair. Numbing creams cannot penetrate deep enough to minimise any discomfort that may be felt at the follicle.

Also, with the Laser machine that we use, it provides a cooling effect which prevents the usual heat sensation you can get with other types of machines.

Please ensure that no occlusive creams are present on the treatment areas when undergoing laser hair reduction treatments.

What should I do after my laser session to prevent complications?2025-03-12T20:32:54+00:00

Please follow the below aftercare to help us achieve the best results possible:

  • For 2 days post treatment, you must avoid hot showers, shaving, waxing and any kind of plucking in the area. Also, you need to avoid excessive sweating for a few days too, so definitely no steam or saunas.
  • Using daily SPF is super important, especially on the face, and avoid direct sunlight for 3 weeks.
  • Applying an after-laser moisturiser really will help keep your skin hydrating and help with soothing, calming and cooling the skin. Our MOOSKIN Soothe is brilliant for this, and designed specifically for post waxing and laser treatment – it’s ace.
  • Please don’t exfoliate for approx. a week, however exfoliating a couple of times per week will really help with your results and getting super soft skin at the same time.
Can I have laser treatment when I am on my period?2022-08-06T20:40:59+01:00

Yes of course! Please just use a fresh tampon, or menstrual cup if you are having your Intimate area treated.

What are the age restrictions for Laser Hair Reduction2026-03-18T10:47:42+00:00

We only treat clients who are over 18 in Mooeys. This is our policy and is in line with our insurance requirements also.

Can I have Laser when Pregnant or Breastfeeding?2022-09-07T09:03:54+01:00

There is no link connecting Laser Hair Removal to negative effects on pregnant women or when breastfeeding. However, there is also no evidence to guarantee it is actually a safe treatment to have during this time either.

However, because there are no long-term studies and due to the delicate nature of pregnancy, it has been recommended by most professional that laser hair removal is postponed until after the birth of the baby. And at Mooeys, we whole heartedly agree with this and feel it is always best to err on the side of caution when it comes to the health and welfare of both mum and baby.

When it comes to breastfeeding, the problem lies with the hormones and the affect that hormones have on your hair growth. The Laser itself won’t cause you or your baby any problems, however we cannot guarantee a great result.

Our word of advice on this would be to wait 12 weeks post labour before continuing or starting your Laser course. This is because the hair growth can change so much during and after labour and we want you to get the best results possible. Let your body heal and rest up, and then once you have passed the 12-week period, this would be the right time to get on with your Laser again, or even start it.

If you are troubled by excess hair growth during pregnancy, we recommend more temporary hair removal solutions such as waxing. Once you have given birth and past your initial 12 weeks, we are happy to re-commence your Laser Hair Removal sessions or start your course of treatment.

We would also always recommend a patch test post labour, even if you have had laser hair removal before. The body goes through so many changes, and we would want to be sure that you aren’t going to have any kind of reactions.

Is this treatment gender specific?2022-08-06T20:45:41+01:00

Not at all, we offer laser hair removal services for all people, however we don’t currently offer scrotum laser hair removal services.

At Mooeys, we offer expert brow shaping, tinting, brow lamination and lash lifts to enhance your natural features. Whether you’re after perfectly sculpted brows or beautifully lifted lashes, we’ve got you covered!

Our Brow Shape includes a consultation to discuss your ideal brow shape, followed by precise waxing, tweezing, and trimming to achieve a perfectly tailored look.

What is a Brow Tint, and how long does it last?2025-03-12T21:15:27+00:00

A Brow Tint adds depth and definition to your brows by enhancing the natural colour of your hairs. Results typically last 3-4 weeks, depending on your skin type and hair growth.

We do an awesome treatment called the Moobrow which is a combination of tinting and shaping to perfection!

Can I get my brows waxed if I have sensitive skin?2025-03-12T21:16:09+00:00

Yes! Our therapists are highly trained in working with sensitive skin. We use a gentle hot wax specifically designed for delicate areas like the brows, reducing the risk of irritation.

I’ve had a skin graze/burn from waxing before. How do you prevent this?2025-03-12T21:18:05+00:00

At Mooeys, we take every precaution to prevent skin irritation. Here’s how we ensure a safe waxing experience:

  • We use high-quality, low-temperature hot wax that is gentle on the skin.
  • Our therapists always test the wax temperature before application.
  • We prep the skin properly using soothing pre-wax products to minimise sensitivity.
  • We will not carry out any facial waxing if you are using retinol based skincare as this is one of the biggest causes of skin lifting in wax treatments. Please check your products for Retinol, Retin-A, Retinoids or Vitamin-A ingredients.
  • We provide aftercare advice to help avoid irritation.

If you have extremely sensitive skin or have experienced reactions in the past, let us know before your appointment—we can do a patch test to ensure you’re comfortable.

What is a Lash Lift, and how does it work?2025-03-12T21:18:48+00:00

A Lash Lift enhances your natural lashes by lifting and curling them at the root, giving a longer, more defined appearance without the need for extensions. The results last about 4 weeks and give your lashes a gorgeous, eye-opening effect.

Does a Lash Lift damage my natural lashes?2025-03-12T21:19:26+00:00

Not at all! Our lash lift products are formulated to be gentle, and we always condition your lashes after the treatment to keep them healthy and strong.

Can I get a Brow or Lash Tint if I’m pregnant?2025-03-12T21:20:05+00:00

Yes, but we require a patch test at least 48 hours before your appointment. Pregnancy can cause hormonal changes, which may make your skin more sensitive, so it’s always best to check first.

Nails and Toes FAQ’s

What’s the difference between gel nails and regular polish?2025-03-12T20:46:42+00:00

Gel polish dries instantly under a UV or LED lamp (We use LED so no need to worry about the UV damage) and lasts up to three weeks without chipping—unlike regular polish, which takes forever to dry and chips within days.

We offer overlay services which is the perfect treatment to grow your own natural nails aswell as gel manicure with builder base for those who want a bit of extra strength under a gel manicure. Perfect for those with bendy nails and struggle to keep a gel polish on longer than a week.

We use The Gel Bottle range which is the creator of the BIAB gel (also known as Builder in a bottle)

Check out our booking system HERE for all services and prices

How long do gel nails last?2025-03-12T20:47:38+00:00

On average, gel nails stay flawless for 2-3 weeks. If you’re a swimmer, do lots of housework, or use your hands a lot, they may wear a little faster.

If you are quite hard on your hands, a builder layer or overlay may be a better option for you. But get in touch and we will see what’s best for you.

Will gel nails damage my natural nails?2025-03-12T20:52:39+00:00

Not if applied and removed properly!
Damage usually happens when gel is peeled off instead of being soaked off professionally. We always recommend booking a proper removal to prevent any damage.

we also insist on a full removal and redo after 3 infill treatments so that we can check the health of your nails snd ensure there are no hidden surpises such as Greenies which can happen when water gets under the gel layer. You can learn more about them HERE.

Can I get a gel manicure if my nails are weak or brittle?2025-03-12T20:55:09+00:00

Yes! We also offer BIAB (Builder in a Bottle), a strengthening gel overlay that helps protect and reinforce weak nails. This can be applied as a later under a gel manicure which is great if your nails are a bit bendy or break easily. However Overlays are the treatment you need if your nails are really bendy or if you struggle to keep gel polish on for a week or more.

Do you offer nail art or custom designs?2025-03-12T21:01:07+00:00

Yes! From simple accents to intricate designs, our talented nail techs love getting creative. Let us know what you fancy when booking!

We provide nail art in 3 different levels and not all of our Moos are Arty, so if you have any mega intricate designs, please send your inspiration pictures through and we will see if we have anyone that can do them in the time that we allow.

Please remember that a lot of what you see on social media is either AI or has taken hours for the purpose of showcasing skills online. We will always be honest and advise if your design request isn’t achievable, but also we have a few Moos that love a challenge. So always ask 😉

Can I have gel nails if I’m pregnant?2025-03-12T21:02:10+00:00

Yes, gel polish is totally safe during pregnancy. Just be aware that some hospitals ask you to remove gel polish before giving birth or going in for some operations.

How often should I book a gel nail appointment?2025-03-12T21:03:43+00:00

Every 2-3 weeks to keep them looking fresh. If you have BIAB or overlays, you might stretch to 3 weeks, but we wouldn’t suggest longer as lifting occurs which cn then cause a whole heap of nail health problems.

What’s the best way to take care of my gel nails at home?2025-03-12T21:04:14+00:00
  • Apply cuticle oil daily to keep your nails healthy.
  • Avoid using your nails as tools (no opening cans!).
  • Wear gloves when cleaning or washing up.
  • Book regular maintenance appointments to keep them looking flawless.
Where can I get gel nails done near me?2025-03-12T21:13:33+00:00

Why Do We Do Dry Pedicures at Mooeys?2025-03-12T22:23:00+00:00

At Mooeys, we choose dry pedicures because they’re better for your nail health, polish longevity, and overall hygiene. Soaking softens nails too much, making them prone to damage, and can lead to premature chipping of polish or gel. Working on dry feet allows for more precise shaping, better hard skin removal, and a longer-lasting finish. Plus, it’s more hygienic—no shared foot baths, just expert foot care tailored to you! 👣✨
