October always hosts one of our absolute favourite days in the Mooeys calendar – our annual Mooeys Management Conference! This Annual event always brings together our franchise owners, management teams, and head office crew from across all 7 salons for a jam-packed day of learning, connection, reflection, and (of course) a whole lot of fun.
From the moment the doors opened, the energy was electric – and it only got better from there once the coffee’s and sweet treats got flowing.
To kick the day off we dove into some Understanding Ourselves (and Each Other!) DISC profiling, exploring how different personalities communicate, lead, and thrive. It was a game-changer for many of us , giving our leaders the tools to build stronger, more connected teams and understand their own unique superpowers.
After a quick break with smoothies and cookies we moved onto our next workshop – Selling with Purpose & Heart. We then joined by the brilliant Arif Isikgun, who shared his expertise on selling with purpose and heart. His session reminded us that great sales don’t come from scripts or pressure – they come from authenticity, empathy, and a true belief in what we offer – a safe, friendly environment with professional services and our clients at the heart of what we do.
We then broke out of the conference room and headed to the restaurant for lunch where we were treated to a spread and a lot more of a chin wag, just chatting through any questions, goals between salons. Once lunch was over we moved onto a little bit of role play with some Crisis Simulation: Teamwork Under Pressure testing how we work together in an emergency. It was intense, eye-opening, and surprisingly fun! Moments like these show just how strong the Mooeys network really is – resilient, supportive, and always ready to problem-solve together.
One of the most inspiring moments of the afternoon came from the incredible Vanessa from Mooeys Petersfield, who shared The Melissa Effect – a powerful story that beautifully captured how recognising and nurturing people’s strengths allows them to truly shine. When one person thrives, the whole business rises with them – and that’s exactly what Mooeys is all about.
We wrapped up the day by looking Ahead: Goals, Growth & Great Vibes setting each of our salon and personal goals for the year ahead – with big dreams, bold ideas, and the belief that together, there’s nothing we can’t achieve.
