Waxing, done properly.
From a quick brow tidy to intimate and pregnancy waxing. With our own wax, made because nothing else was quite good enough.
Our specialist subject.
Body waxing, face waxing, intimate waxing, pregnancy waxing: we cover the lot, and we’re properly good at it. Years of doing it, refining it, training Moos on it. It’s the thing we know inside out.
So good, in fact, that we created our own wax brand (Moo Wax) and our own pre and post-care range (MOOSKIN). Not because we wanted to be product-makers, but because we couldn’t find anything on the market that gave us the results we wanted.
What we wax.
Face & brows
Face & brows
Brows, lip, chin, sides, and full face. Hot wax only on the face, because it’s gentler on the skin and gives a cleaner result. (More on why we don’t use strip wax on faces below.)
- Includes: Brow shaping, lip, chin, sides, full face.
- Important: If you use retinoids (retinol, tretinoin, Differin, Roaccutane), please skip face waxing. More in the FAQs below.
Body
Body
The full body menu: underarms, arms, half and full legs, back, chest, stomach. For most clients on most areas, we’ll choose between hot or strip wax depending on the area and how sensitive your skin is.
- Includes: Underarms, arms (half / full), legs (half / full), back, chest, stomach.
- Most of our services are gender neutral. (See “Whoever you are, you’re welcome” below.)
Bikini & intimate
Bikini & intimate
From a standard bikini line through to our absolute specialist service: The Ultimate Mooey (our name for a full Brazilian or Hollywood wax). Hot wax only, because it’s kinder to sensitive skin and gives a much better result.
- Includes: Standard bikini line, Mini Mooey (our name for an extended bikini wax) and The Ultimate Mooey (Brazilian or Hollywood).
- A little extra: every Ultimate Mooey comes with a complimentary brow tidy, lip wax, or chin wax thrown in for FREE.

Pregnancy waxing
Pregnancy waxing
Our super power. Amy created our own signature pregnancy waxing training programme, written with a midwife and a nurse, which is the only one of its kind in the beauty industry. Our Moos are trained on what’s safe at every stage, how the body changes during pregnancy, and when to suggest you check in with your midwife or a medical professional if needed.
- Available throughout pregnancy and post-partum.
- Read more about our pregnancy training below.
Whoever you are, you’re welcome.
Most of what we do is gender neutral: brow tidies, back and chest waxes, arms, legs, the lot. The two things we don’t currently offer are scrotum waxing and laser. Everything else is yours.
What makes our waxing different.
We made our own wax.
Mooeys started with off-the-shelf waxes from the big brands. None of them gave us what we wanted: too much waste, too much pain for clients, inconsistent grip on the hair, inconsistent gentleness on the skin. So we worked on creating our own.
Moo Wax is what came out the other side. We use it in every Mooeys, and we train other professionals on it through Mooeys Professional. Alongside it sits MOOSKIN, our pre and post-care range, formulated to work with the wax rather than against it.
No-one in this industry makes their own wax unless they’re properly invested in waxing being done well. That’s the bit we want you to take from this.
Stop the Strip: why we use hot wax on faces and bikinis.
There are two kinds of wax. Strip wax is warm, applied with a stick, and removed with a paper strip. Hot wax sets on the skin and is lifted off without a strip. Both have their place, but not on the face.
Strip wax can really damage the skin: lifting, redness, and in the worst cases proper grazing.
We use hot wax on faces and bikinis exclusively. We also run a Stop the Strip campaign in the industry to educate other beauty professionals on why this matters. It’s a quieter sort of advocacy than awards or accolades, but it’s the kind we’re proud of.
Our pregnancy waxing training is the only one of its kind.
Most beauty salons that offer pregnancy waxing don’t have specific training for it (unless they’ve done our training, of course). They wax pregnant clients using the same techniques they’d use for anyone else. Which is fine, until it isn’t.
Pregnancy changes the body in ways that matter for waxing. Skin becomes more sensitive. Areas that were straightforward become awkward. Some things that look unusual are completely normal; others need medical attention. Knowing the difference matters.
Amy worked with a midwife and a nurse to build a pregnancy waxing training programme. It’s the only one of its kind in the beauty industry. It covers sexual health, what changes during pregnancy and why, what looks normal at each stage, what doesn’t, when to suggest a client checks in with her midwife, and how to make the whole thing comfortable and safe.
Every Mooeys Moo trained to wax pregnant clients has been through it. That’s why we say we’re specialists.

The questions we get asked.
Honest answer: yes, a bit. The first wax is usually the worst. After that, regular waxing tends to be more comfortable, because the hair grows back finer and the follicles get used to it. We use hot wax on the most sensitive areas (face, bikini, intimate) because it’s gentler than strip wax, and our Moos are trained to work quickly and cleanly. Most clients are surprised at how manageable it is once they’ve had one.
About 0.5cm, roughly the length of a grain of rice. Long enough for the wax to grip, short enough not to drag. If you’ve been shaving, give it at least 2-3 weeks of growth before your first wax. If you’re between waxes and the hair’s gone a bit long, no worries; your Moo can still get it sorted.
Usually 3-4 weeks before regrowth becomes noticeable, and 4-6 weeks before you’d want to book in again. It varies by person and area: facial hair tends to grow back fastest, legs slowest. Regular waxers often find their regrowth gets thinner and patchier over time.
Yes. Waxing is safe throughout pregnancy and post-partum. What changes is your skin: it tends to be more sensitive, and areas that were straightforward can become trickier as the body changes shape. That’s why we have specialist pregnancy waxing training, so we know how to work with those changes rather than against them.
Amy created our own pregnancy waxing training programme, written with a midwife and a nurse. It’s the only one of its kind in the beauty industry. It covers what changes during pregnancy and why, what looks normal at each stage and what doesn’t, when to suggest you check in with your midwife, and how to make sure you’re properly comfortable throughout. Every Moo who waxes pregnant clients has been trained on it.
Practically: it means you can come to us at any stage of pregnancy and know you’re in hands that understand what’s going on.
Not on the face, no. Retinoids (retinol, tretinoin, Differin, Roaccutane and similar) thin the top layer of skin and make it more vulnerable to lifting and grazing during waxing. The risk of skin damage is significantly higher.
General guidance is to stop using retinoids on any area you’re planning to wax at least 7 days before your appointment, ideally longer for stronger products. If you’re not sure, give us a ring before booking; we’d rather have the conversation than risk damaging your skin.
Strip wax is warm, applied thinly with a wooden stick, and removed by pressing a paper or fabric strip over the top and pulling it off. Hot wax is thicker, sets on the skin, and is lifted off without a strip, almost like peeling.
Both have their place on body areas where the skin is robust. But on the face and bikini area, where the skin is thinner and more sensitive, strip wax can cause lifting, redness, and in the worst cases proper skin grazing or bruising. We use hot wax exclusively on faces and bikinis, and we run a Stop the Strip campaign in the industry to educate other professionals on why this matters.
Yes. Most of what we do is gender neutral: brow tidies, back and chest waxes, arms, legs, the lot. You’re very welcome.
It’s not a service we currently offer. We’d rather focus on the services we can do brilliantly. If that changes in future, we’ll let you know.
It can feel a bit weird the first time, and that’s completely normal. After about 30 seconds, most clients realise their Moo isn’t fazed in the slightest, and it becomes much less of a thing. We’ve waxed thousands of people. Whatever you’re worried might be embarrassing, we’ve seen it. Your Moo is professional, kind, and there to look after you.
If it helps: most regular intimate waxing clients say they don’t even think about it anymore. The first one is the only one that feels properly new.
For the first 24 hours: no hot baths or showers, no swimming, no saunas, no sunbeds, no intense exercise, and no fragranced products on the waxed area. Skin is more vulnerable for a day or so, so give it time to settle.
We sell MOOSKIN, our post-wax and bodycare range, in every salon. It’s made to work with the wax and reduce redness, ingrown hairs, and irritation. Your Moo will run through aftercare with you in salon.
Ingrown hairs happen when regrowth doesn’t make it through the skin’s surface cleanly. The fix is consistency: regular waxing, gentle exfoliation (2-3 times a week), and keeping the skin moisturised. Avoid scratching, picking, or harsh scrubs.
Our facial range partners at Evolve make an incredible salicylic serum that works wonders on pesky ingrown hairs.
Our own wax brand. We started Mooeys using off-the-shelf waxes from the big brands, and we weren’t satisfied with the results: too much waste, too much pain, inconsistent grip, and frustratingly too much snappage. So we created Moo Wax.
We use it in all of our own salons, and other beauty professionals, salons, and colleges outside of the Mooeys group use it too. We’re properly proud of that. It’s a quieter point of pride than awards, but it’s the one we’re probably proudest of.
Yes, including intimate waxing. We just ask that you use a fresh tampon or menstrual cup rather than a pad, for hygiene and comfort. Your skin may be slightly more sensitive during your period (hormones), so the wax might feel a touch more uncomfortable than usual, but it’s perfectly safe and we do it all the time.
