As the leaves begin to fall and the weather cools, we naturally start to swap out our summer wardrobes for warm jumpers and cosy nights in. But while autumn is about winding down, it’s actually the ideal time to plan ahead for next summer – especially when it comes to hair removal.

At Mooeys, safety is never compromised; we believe in doing things properly. Our laser hair removal treatments are designed to give you long lasting, smooth results in a safe, welcoming environment.

We use the latest laser technology and our therapists are fully trained in safe treatment delivery. We’ll never treat you if it’s not suitable  – your skin health always comes first. From patch testing to follow-ups we monitor your skin’s response throughout the process and are here to answer any questions.

You’re not just booking in for hair removal – you’re trusting us with your skin, and we take that seriously.

Why Autumn is the Best Time to Start Laser Hair Removal

  • Less Sun Exposure:

Laser treated skin is more sensitive to UV light, so it’s important to avoid sun exposure during treatment. Autumn’s shorter days and reduced outdoor activity make it much easier to protect your skin and prevent complications like sunburn or pigmentation.

  • Plenty of Time for Results:

Hair grows in cycles, and laser targets hair in its active growth phase. We recommend between 6–10 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, to get the full benefits of the treatment. Starting in autumn means you can complete your course through winter, ready to show off your results when the sun comes back out.

  • Easier Aftercare:

Post treatment care includes avoiding heat, tight clothing, and sun exposure – all much easier to manage in the cooler months. You’re already wearing longer sleeves and staying indoors more often, which naturally supports your skin’s healing and gives you better results.

How Laser Hair Removal Works

Laser hair removal works by targeting the pigment (melanin) in the hair follicle with pulses of light. This energy damages the follicle, disrupting future hair growth; hair becomes finer, softer, and slower to regrow – eventually stopping altogether in many areas.

Since hair grows in cycles, and not all hair is in the active (anagen) phase at the same time, multiple sessions are needed to catch all hairs effectively.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Most clients see visible results after just a few sessions, but a full course of 6–8 treatments delivers the best long-term reduction. After that, occasional top-up sessions (every 6–12 months) keep you smooth and hair-free.

Your Mooeys Laser Hair Removal Journey

We pride ourselves on offering a personalised and professional approach from the very beginning of your hair reduction journey.

Consultation & Patch Test

Your first step will always be a thorough consultation with one of our trained laser specialists. We’ll discuss your desired treatment areas, medical history, and skin type to allow us to tailor the settings to your needs. You’ll also receive a patch test to ensure your skin reacts well to the laser and that we can proceed with treatment safely.

Pre Treatment Care

Before your first appointment:

  • Shave the treatment area 24 hours before
  • Avoid sunbeds and fake tan
  • Skip waxing or plucking for at least 4-6 weeks before starting laser treatment.
  • Arrive with clean skin (no deodorant or moisturiser)

The Treatment

Each treatment session can last from 10 minutes to an hour depending on the area you are having treatment. Most clients describe the sensation as a warm flick to the skin – far more comfortable than waxing. Your therapist will check your comfort throughout and adjust the laser settings as needed.

Post Treatment Care

  • Avoid heat (saunas, hot baths, or exercise) for 24–48 hours
  • Apply SPF to exposed areas, even in autumn and winter
  • Moisturise regularly and avoid perfumed products for a few days
  • Some redness is normal and should fade quickly

Laser is available in our Godalming, Petersfield and Horsham branches. Book your FREE consultation HERE
